Agios Ioannis kitespot, Lefkada – windmills, beautiful sea and epic kite sessions
A glimpse of one of Lefkada’s kitespots, perhaps the most famous of them : Agios Ioannis kitespot, also known as the Windmills.
For intermediate and advanced kiters, this spot will give you unforgettable sessions from Spring to the end of Summer, with the thermal wind blowing side-on shore all afternoon, lovely warm sea, and a stunning scenery. Perfect for kiteboarding sessions and for kitesurfing as well, you might want to take your surfboard out, and it can even get quite wavy sometimes !
Between the sea and the windmills, just a few minutes by car out of Lefkada town, Agios Ioannis and its old windmills, the beach has plenty of space to set up your kite, and is mostly pebbly and sandy, with some rocks. Mind the rocks underwater and check where your entry is, as there are rocks underneath the surface in some areas.
Once in the water, the magic of the spot and the Ionian Sea will make their magic, and you will want to come back again to the windmills for more … Trust us, we see riders coming back every year, and every year sending it!
